On Dec 28, 2014, Ten Major Events of Building Shanghai into An International Financial Center In 2014 was jointly announced by Xinhua News Agency Shanghai Branch, China Financial Information Center, Xinhua Financial Information Platform Shanghai Headquarters and CBN. SIG’s endeavor in pioneering the launching of state-owned assets management platform was included.
In 2014, the reform of Shanghai financial state-owned enterprises was accelerated, the overall layout of state-owned financial assets was further optimized, and SIG took the lead in establishing the state-owned assets management platform with substantive operation.
It is pointed out in the comment of the Top Ten Events: municipal-owned resources in the insurance sector, with China Pacific Insurance Group as core, achieved successful integration; Anxin Agriculture Insurance and Changjiang Pension Insurance were integrated into the management system of China Pacific Insurance Group, and state-owned stake in Dazhong Insurance existed smoothly. Guotai Junan Securities successfully acquired Shanghai Securities. The alternative financial assets were transferred via package divestment. The acquisition of Shanghai Trust by Shanghai Pudong Development Bank was in the approval process. Behind such grand capital management, the Government shows clear reform mindsets, namely, the Governemtn focuses on capital management with downsizing systems and SOEs concentrate on growing best, solid and professional.
Three events of SIG, namely, the successful launch of Sailing Capital International, the establishment of Shanghai Equity Exchange and the opening of SPD Silicon Valley Bank from SIG and its affiliates, were selected as Top Ten Events of 2012. In 2014, one event of SIG was among one of Top Ten Events again, indicating the fact that SIG occupies a prestigious position and makes remarkable contributions to the building of Shanghai international financial center.
